This month's visiting teaching message, "Guardians of the Hearth," made me feel proud to be a woman. One quote said, "You are the bearers of the children. You are they who nurture them and establish within them the habits of their lives. No other work reaches so close to divinity as does the nurturing of the sons and daughters of God." -Gordon B. Hinckley.
That quote is so true. A mother teaches her children ways to be for the rest of their life. Even when she isn't teaching, she's teaching by example. Her kids act like her whether she teaches them her behavior or not.
I appreciated the part by Barbara Thompson where she talked about how we are an example even when we don't have kids. She said that if we aren't a mother we're still a sister, wife, daughter, or niece. She said if we aren't any of those things to remember that we are a part of God's family.
We are an example to everyone around us. We need to be on our best behavior and act appropriately because someone is always watching.
